UPC Affiliate Portal vs. Website Pro - What is the main difference?

When you sign up as UPC Affiliate for free, you also create your own personal username. This registration process automatically creates a website with your username. The webpage is yours to use for free to build your UPC Business. This website will be www.yourusername.myupcsite.com This is not a website that you can customize. It is a site created for all Affiliates and used by all Affiliates. The site has your username in the front of the web address so that when you sign up a new Affiliate, or when you sell a Website Pro, you will get the credit.
    Thank You, Jerry McDonald

The main difference between the UPC Affiliate Portal and the UPC Website PRO is that the UPC Affiliate Portal is the free site that is given to every UPC Affiliate and it can not be changed or edited except for the "Contact Us" tab.  The Website Pro is the product we market and all pages can be edited. The UPC Affiliate Portal is used to build your UPC Business.  The Website Pro can be used to build ANY business including your UPC business.

Affiliate Tracking - How does Affiliate Tracking work?

Sales of Website Pro sitebuilders and sign-ups of new UPC Affiliates are automatically tracked by your Affiliate username.

When a UPC Affiliate wishes to insert a link to the Website Pro sitebuilder via a web page or email, Affiliates should link to http://upcsites.com  as follows:

                 http://www.UPCsites.com/?offer=yourrname

For example, where you see yourrname, you should put your own UPC Affiliate username.  If your UPC Affiliate Portal is:

                            http://jimmy.myupcsite.com

    Then your link would be:

                           http://jimmy.upcsites.com/?offer=jimmy

Any sales made by you will be tracked with your Affiliate username.

Your  Website Pro http://jimmy.UPCsite.com has tracking already in the site if someone clicks on the link at the bottom of your website -  Powered by UPCsites.com

Domain - What is a "domain name"?
Domains are Web Addresses. Just like a street address, cyberspace has addresses to designate a location.  Just like a physical street address, there is only one domain name allowed for each location in cyberspace.  You probably have seen all your favorite stores, restaurants, and special interests with their name on the World Wide Web. They look like this - "yourdomain.com".  Organizations usually use something like this - "our association.org.  Domain names can be rented or leased for a period of time.

Domain - How can I get one?
Anybody can rent one. You don't have to have a business or organization to have one. In fact, many people are getting them just for themselves and their families. But you better hurry, they're going fast because they are unique. Your domain name can be used as the suffix (last part of your email address) so that you can promote your venture or organization every time you send an email.

To acquire a domain name, go to UPC Domain Names

Domain - What are the rules for names?

Names cannot be more than 67 characters long, including the dot(.), and the extensions, (.com, .org, and .net). Letters, numbers, and the dash(-) are all acceptable, but you can't begin or end the name with the dash. DotBiz (something.biz) and DotInfo (something.info) domains cannot be less than 3 characters in length, excluding the extension.

Generally, the shorter the domain name the better.  Simplicity results in fewer mistakes by the audience you are trying to attract to your website.

Domain - What if the one I want isn't available?

With so many people and businesses registering their names everyday, you may have to become more creative to find the one that's just right for you. Remember, you can't use trademark names or any names that are indecent or that others may find objectionable.

If the one you want is not available, try other spellings, a different concept, or a different end.  For example, if johnsmith.com is not availiable, try johnwsmith.com, johnwsmith.net, or johnwesleysmith.com.

ActivEdit Editor does not work on my site. What can I do?

At the current time, those of you who are using Symantec Firewall and Antivirus protection will find that these programs block the ActiveEdit Editor.  For more information, check the FAQ's on -

    www.cfdev.com/activedit/

Yes you can become an Affiliate.  If you have a US tax identification number, i.e. an EIN or SS number, you should fill out a W-9 form found in the Library in the Affiliate Business Center (Affiliate Log In required. How many website trials can I do?

You can make an unlimited number of trial websites. Just begin the process of making a new trial with a new username for that website.

You can do the trials for yourself and for others.

What about Flash on a Website?

Yes you can add Flash to your website using the Website Pro Sitebuilder.

Before you do please read below. Ask yourself why Google, Yahoo and EBay don't use flash?

Some people will claim that Flash on your web site does not slow the page down. Anything that your browser must interpret before it displays the page fully, takes up time no matter how you slice it. Sure, if a customer is using a top speed cable modem to view your page, Flash will not make a difference. But, if the customer is surfing around using an older computer with a 14.4 modem or even a 28.8 modem, Flash is going be a big problem because the file connot download fast enough for continuous play. In order to view a Flash page, the individual visiting the page must have a browser with a flash plug in called a Flash Player. Older browsers will not contain the flash plug in needed to view a Flash page. If your customer does not have the Flash plug in, your site is not going to load, period.

If you are attempting to make money with your web site, forget the fancy look. Your site needs to be professional and easy to read. It should look inviting, but not overly fancy. Web sites do not need special effects to reach customers. One web designer told me recently that Flash is not a problem because of their high-end clients. His belief was that If the customer is still using a 14.4 modem, they probably do not have the money to be a potential customer in the first place. What a sales pitch if I ever heard one.

I have a retired family member who is very wealthy but is cruising the Internet with a Pentium 75 and 14.4 modem. He occasionally buys some fishing lures online. When he purchased that Pentium 75, it was the top computer available. Today, he may not be technologically up to date, but is still a very valuable customer.

The biggest reason that I would not recommend flash is the way it will interfere with the web spiders ability to optimize your web site. on search engines. One exception for flash however, may be If you are working with an entertainment site. With these sites, visual is everything and web site optimization may not be a concern.

    Flash and Shock Wave Overview

    1. Because older browsers will not contain the plug in needed, these may hurt sales.

    2. May be good for entertainment sites.

    3. Flash and Shock Wave is very impressive to see on a web site, but cannot be indexed by search engine spiders.

Why Do You Need A Web site?

The better question is: Why don't you need a Web site?

The Web can cost-effectively deliver your message to a global audience 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, every day of the year.

    The World Is Listening

According to Nielsen-NetRatings.com, in a typical month, more than 200 million Americans access the web at least 30 times spending close to 30 hours online while visiting 50 or more web sites. Including all of the English-speaking Internet users around the globe results in a total possible reach of close to 290 million people.

    Check the latest Nielsen-netratings.

    Cost Effectiveness

Compared with TV, radio, direct mail, magazines, newspaper and other forms of media the Web's global audience and around-the-clock availability make it one of the most cost-effective means of reaching your audience.

    Availability

The Internet's twenty-four-seven availability means that even when you aren't available, your message is.

To participate on the internet, a website is required.

When a person wants information, there is no greater, faster, or more convenient source than the Internet. A unique, professional Web site is a magnet for the hundreds of potential prospects who surf the Internet on a daily basis. Think of your Web site as a full-color, original, eye-catching brochure that can be viewed at any time -- day or night. The speed, convenience, and money-saving features of a Web site are qualities that you can't afford to ignore.

Ask yourself this question: "Am I prepared to lose hundreds of prospects to my competition"? If your competition has an active presence on the Internet, that's exactly what you're doing. A Web site could mean the difference between success and failure in today's "wired world." Do not let opportunity pass you by! Take advantage of the technology at your fingertips and use it to gain an edge in your business.

    How Do I Get Started?

Just Start.  A website is easily changed and is an ever-evolving process.

While preparation an important step in Web development, getting started is the most important step. Take a few moments and think about what you want to accomplish with your Web site and then get going. Decide what it is that makes your business special. What is it about your opportunity that would convince a prospect not to choose any other opportunity out there? Condense and organize this information in the manor you feel is appropriate.

Give some thought to the images you would like to include, and to the color scheme as well. Do some research; don't rely solely on the opinions and suggestions from other people, or even of those developing your site! Venture out on the Internet and look at other successful businesses and what they have done to gain the advantage they have over their competitors.

Also, come up with a dot.com name  (domain name) that goes along with the concept behind your opportunity or system. A good domain name can make the difference when it comes to word of mouth advertising.

Once you have a solid structure for what you want, and all the needed information has been compiled into a simple, easy-to-understand format, Now lets take 5 min and start the site . Click on the "Product" tab on your UPC Affiliate Portal and start the adventure!

Why is the Website so costly?

    Compared to what?

How much did your computer(s) cost?

How much a year does it cost to maintain?
Example: Software upgrades, monthly cost for virus or spam protection, monthly cost for internet access and electricity?

How much money did you make in return?  Owning a UPC Website Pro website makes you money.

You could do this same example with a cell phone!

One hundred shares of McDonald's stock, worth $2,250 when it was first offered, was worth more than 1.4 million dollars 30 years later. Who'd have guessed! That initial investment looks like chump change by comparison. Doesn't it?

The cost of Website Pro is irrelevant too, because the results you'll see will be so dramatic.  Quotes by various webmasters to duplicate websites produced by the UPC Website Pro Sitebuilder have been ten times or more than the cost of the sitebuilder that produced them.

UPC has Affiliates that have made over $70,000 in their first year with the site they built with the UPC Website Pro.

People who are already using Website Pro have been stunned by how quickly fortunes can be turned around. You will be too.

I live outside the US. Do I need to submit a W9 form?

Affiliates in other countries do not need to complete the W9 for the US.

You still need follow laws in your county and report your income.

Can I make corrections AFTER Affiliate sign up information has been submitted?

If an error is made in the personal information which was submitted, it can easily be corrected.  Log into your Affiliate Business Center from your UPC Affiliate Portal and click on the "Personal Info" button.  Make the necessary changes and click "Submit" at the bottom.

If an error is made because a person registers on the wrong UPC Affiliate Portal, the correction can be made, but it must be made by UPC Support personnel.  Submit a request on UPCnews.com and give the new Affiliates username, the username they were incorrectly registered under, and the username who they should be registered under.
